What makes a business sign actually work?
A business sign does one job: it makes your business the one people notice, remember and walk into. The signs that do that best aren’t flat prints they’re 3D business signs, laser cut from sheet metal with real depth (usually 25–100mm), so light hits the edges and face differently through the day and the letters throw genuine shadow.
Every sign we build is bespoke cut to your exact logo, brand colour and site conditions, never picked off a shelf. Most are made from aluminium (lightweight, cost-effective) or stainless steel (heavier, more durable, better for coastal or high-traffic sites), and can be left raw, powder-coated in any colour, or fitted with LED lighting.

Frequently asked questions
Most halo lit business shop signs run $1,200–$2,800 depending on size, material and lighting. Small non-illuminated indoor business signs start around $450. You’ll get an itemised fixed quote with your free mockup — see the pricing section above for a full breakdown.
Indoor business signs are usually thinner-gauge, non-lit or softly halo-lit, and mounted with standoffs or adhesive. Exterior business signs are weather-sealed, use IP-rated LED components and marine-grade fixings, and are wind-load rated. Business signs outdoor within a few km of the coast should be 316 stainless to avoid rust.
3D fabricated business signs are made by laser-cutting each letter or logo from sheet metal, then welding a side wall (“return”) to give it 25–100mm of physical depth. Unlike flat printed signage, the raised letters catch light and cast shadow, which is what makes them read as premium from the street.
Most orders take 7–14 business days from mockup approval to dispatch. Complex bespoke business signs (mixed metals, unusual shapes, large formats) can take up to three weeks — we’ll confirm the timeline with your fixed quote.
Yes. Powder-coating is Pantone-matched and baked on for chip and fade resistance. Send us your brand guide or a colour code and the mockup will show it on your actual wall.
Sometimes it depends on your council, the sign’s size and whether it’s illuminated. Our premium exterior packages include council-compliant mounting, and we’ll flag whether your sign is likely to need a permit at quote stage.
Aluminium is lighter and cheaper and suits most business shop signs and indoor use. Stainless (especially 316-grade) is the right call for coastal, high-traffic or high-touch locations where durability matters more than weight.
